United Through Sport
Play. Tackle. Unite.
"Sport has the power to change the world... the power to inspire... the power to unite people in a way that little else can."
- Nelson Mandela
For every volunteer who signs up to one of our sports projects, we make a financial donation to our registered charity, United Through Sport (no.1102107). This is in addition to the contribution we make for buying decent sports equipment in the communities our volunteers work.
United Through Sport supports a variety of sports and educational initiatives in developing communities, from building sports facilities in townships, to providing academy scholarships for kids, to funding salaries for local community coaches.
Furthermore, our volunteers often work on projects that United Through Sport money has helped to support. Because of this personal link, many of our volunteers return home wanting to make a personal contribution to the charity, whether it is a one-off donation or organising full-scale fundraising events – the amount of sports kit that past travellers have collected is astounding!
